Meet Carolyn

Carolyn is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing from Syracuse University, Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tulane University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of San Diego, and a Fellowship of Integrative Medicine from the University of Arizona. Her continuing education is concentrated in Functional Medicine. Pediatric integrative and functional medicine, which is endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, is a prevention and healing-oriented partnership with each individual family that looks at the infant, child, or adolescent as a unique whole system within a larger environmental context. It takes into account all elements of lifestyle and environment. An integrative encounter addresses nutrition, sleep, movement, mind-body connection, and environmental exposures. Treatments often include multiple modalities, which include nutrition, herbs and supplements, mind-body approaches (relaxation breathing, hypnosis, mental imagery), movement, minimizing environmental toxic exposures, and conventional medical approaches.

Outside the office, Carolyn enjoys “practicing what she preaches” by spending time with family and friends, cooking, being outdoors, and doing projects.
